First let me apologize for getting this story to you so late. I had been busy getting ready to leave on my trip to Australia when I heard on the radio that on Friday April 17th the "3rd Annual Jennifer Harman Charity Poker Tournament" would be held. The tournament benefits the Nevada SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and was held at the Venetian. I thought that you would like to see what "Pros" came out for the event so I took some time out from packing and I headed on down to the Venetian to see who would be walking the "Red Carpet" and try to get some pictures for you. Now this tournament was also open to the public and any one could play this NLHE Poker Tournament with a $300 +$30 buy in. Of course there was no way I was throwing $300 down on a table to play poker....yet. Remember I only just had a lesson 2 days before and I'm still not even that great at playing online which by the way I am really sucking at right now. This tournament has raised well over $125,000 in the past and I'm sure it exceeded that this year. There were several prizes awarded all the way down to 10th place with the Grand Prize being a $10,000 WSOP Main Event entry (which as you know will be held here in Las Vegas) and a Curtis & Co. watch. I didn't have a "Press" pass to get me up close and personal with the "Pros" but I think I did okay with trying to snap some pictures. First of course is the hostess of the tournament, Jennifer Harman
and then players like Daniel Negreanu
Barry Greenstein
Phil Hellmuth
Andy Bloch
Lacey Jones
and Robert Williamson III There were also some other confirmed players for the tournament like Marco Traniello, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Chris Ferguson, Mark "POkerHO" Kroon, Eli Elezra, Hoyt Corkins, Chau Giang, David Chesnoff, Brad Booth, David Williams, Jeff Madsen, Tod Brunson, Flaminio Malaguti, James Van Alstyne, Shun Uchida, Paul Darden, and Lee Watkinson. Starting chip stack was $1,000, limits began at $25-$50 and increased every 20 minutes until the seventh level when rounds were reduced to 15 minutes and ended with limits of $10,000-$20,000. During the re-buy period an extra $100 would get you $1000 more chips and the one time $100 add-on for $2,000 chips was allowed for each player at the end of round 3. I thought it would be great to have the results of who won, but it seems no one has posted them yet. I will be back from Australia May 15th, so keep on eye out after then to see what's going on in Vegas!

He who says he can and he who says he can't are both usually right.

In my world, everyone's a pony, and they all eat rainbows and poop butterflies.

Thank you! And I am having a blast in Australia! The reason for all the dogs is because the tournament was for a charity that helps prevent cruelty to animals. And these were some of the dogs that are available for adoption.
